Maintaining Productivity to Maximize Efficiency
Being productive can be one of the hardest things to do when you first wake up. Many times you’ll be groggy, lethargic, or even lazy. Here are some practical steps that you can take to bring out the inner efficiency in you.
Don’t Underestimate Breakfast
Having always heard from nearly everybody that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, why not take that and run with it. Instead of reaching for those frozen waffles, make yourself a smoothie. Adding veggies like spinach and cucumbers along with fruits can really get you off to a good start.
Ask Yourself Questions
Follow through with your to-do lists. If you have deadlines or even prospective deadlines, take the time and plan everything out from start to finish. Looking back at your previous ventures, did everything go as you planned? What worked and what didn’t? What routes could I have potentially taken? Answer these questions to fully understand what you have to do for an assignment or project. Plan out certain days of the week where you address these issues.
Take Some Time to Meditate
The constant rush of incoming work can be stressful on both your body and mind. Take some time from your day to sit down and unwind. Just 15 minutes out of your day can increase your efficiency. During this time plan ahead and determine what you have planned for the rest of the day.
Many times people get derailed from their goals and lose their rhythm. Identifying what you believe to be the cause of this and taking action is the first step in increasing your productivity.
